Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA)
We are the only statewide association for veterinarians and each member of the veterinary team. Created in 1883, PVMA has grown into an association which prides itself on providing insight, benefits, and high-quality continuing education to our members. We also have helpful resources for the pet owning public. Visit our website and choose from the “For Pet Owners” menu on the far right of the menu.
Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF)
PVF is the charitable arm of the PVMA. Through donations from our members and the public, they fund veterinary student scholarships, The Last Chance Fund (TLC), Native American Veterinary Services (NAVS), and the Memorial Gift Program.
American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
AVMA is the national equivalent of PVMA with lots of helpful information for veterinarians and the public.
Pet Poison Helpline
The Pet Poison Helpline is a great resource for pet owners and veterinarians on poisons relating to pets and how to prevent illness. They also have a toll-free number – 800-213-6680 – which is available 24/7 if you have an emergency where you can get advice. Have an iPhone? They have a downloadable app too.
